Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Direktur Perubahan Iklim Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) Fachry Radjab memaparkan data terbaru mengenai prediksi iklim yang berkaitan dengan penanganan kebakaran hutan dan lahan (karhutla).

Fachry mengatakan, fenomena El Nino masih aktif dengan indeks anomali suhu yang disebutnya mencapai positif 3,7.

“Seperti telah kami sampaikan di awal tahun 2026, yaitu di bulan Maret bahwa musim kemarau kita tahun ini akan berbarengan dengan aktifnya fenomena El Nino dan sampai saat ini El Nino masih aktif, sehingga indeks anomali suhunya itu positif 3.7, artinya ini sangat kuat. El Nino yang sangat kuat,” kata Fachry dalam paparannya di Gedung Kemenko Polkam, Rabu (14/10/2026).

Menurut Fachry, kondisi di wilayah Samudra Pasifik juga menunjukkan fenomena El Nino telah memasuki kategori sangat kuat.

“Suhu muka di sana sudah sangat kuat sehingga berpengaruh ke Indonesia semakin berkurangnya jumlah curah hujan,” ujar Fachry.

BMKG memprediksi El Nino masih akan bertahan hingga awal 2027. Meski demikian, Fachry menjelaskan bahwa El Niño dan musim merupakan dua fenomena berbeda, tetapi saling memengaruhi.

“Jadi musim kemarau ataupun musim hujan akan selalu terjadi di Indonesia, tidak dipengaruhi ada atau tidak adanya El Nino,” terang Fachry.

Fachry menyebut, ketika musim hujan tiba, dampak El Nino akan berkurang dengan sendirinya, meski tidak sepenuhnya hilang.

Prediksi Awal Musim Hujan Mundur

Dalam paparannya, Fachry menjelaskan bahwa sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia umumnya mulai mengalami curah hujan cukup tinggi pada Desember. Namun, pola tersebut tidak berlaku seragam di seluruh wilayah.

“Ini memang pola yang umum, artinya memang tidak semua wilayah Indonesia itu sama, gitu ya, curah hujannya. Seperti di Indonesia Timur, Maluku, Papua nanti justru puncak musim penghujungnya itu di sekitar bulan Mei. Tapi di wilayah lain pada umumnya puncak musim hujan adalah di eh Desember, Januari, Februari,” ungkap Fachry.

Fachry mengatakan, sekitar 61,08 persen luas daratan Indonesia diprediksi mengalami kemunduran awal musim hujan dibandingkan kondisi normal.

“Satu hal yang perlu kami sampaikan juga bahwa awal musim hujan datangnya mundur, tapi puncaknya sama, artinya puncak musim hujan akan tetap terjadi di Desember, Januari, Februari, namun perlu waspada ketika musim hujan langsung puncak,” ujar Fachry.

Menurut Fachry, kondisi tersebut perlu diwaspadai karena berpotensi memicu bencana hidrometeorologi basah.

“Ini perlu menjadi kewaspadaan kita eh terhadap potensi bencana hidrometeorologi basah seperti banjir, banjir bandang, dan longsor,” tandas Fachry.
