Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Wakil Presiden RI ke-10 dan 12, Jusuf Kalla, menegaskan bahwa konflik global yang terjadi saat ini dipicu oleh 3G, yaitu God (agama, ideologi, keyakinan), Glory (rasa hebat, perkasa, hegemoni), Gold (kepentingan ekonomi). Hal itu dikatakannya saat mengisi kuliah umum bertajuk Lessons From the for Peace; Aceh, Afghanistan and Southern Thailand di Northern Illinois University (NIU), Amerika Serikat.

Penyampaian materi tentang Perdamaian oleh Jusuf Kalla, dilaksanakan di Smart Classroom, Latino Research Center, senin 19 Oktober 2029 siang waktu setempat, dihadiri sejumlah guru besar dan mahasiswa program doktoral yang fokus tentang studi perdamaian.

Ketika Soviet menduduki Afghanidtan (1979-1989), Amerika membantu seluruh kelompok perlawanan untuk mengusir Soviet. Setelah itu, Amerika justru menduduki Afghanistan selama 20 tahun dengan alasan, Taliban melindungi Osama Bin Laden. Ternyata, Osama berada di Pakistan tatkala Amerika membunuhnya.

Saat menyinggung soal konflik Aceh, JK menegaskan bahwa konflik selama 29 tahun tersebut terjadi karena ketidakadilan ekonomi. Aceh kaya raya dari segi sumber daya alam tetapi penduduknya sangat miskin dan tingkat literasi sangat rendah. Oleh karena itu, mereka angkat senjata melawan pemerintah. Jadi, bukan karena mau mendirikan negara Islam. Menurut JK, dirinya sangat menyetujui klausul dalam perjanjian damai Aceh, 70% penghasilan Aceh, dikembalikan ke Aceh.
