Gubernur Jawa Barat Dedi Mulyadi merespons hati-hati wacana mengaktifkan kembali Sumbangan Pembinaan Pendidikan (SPP) di SMA dan SMK negeri. Meski menghormati usulan yang tengah dibahas, Dedi menegaskan saat ini belum saatnya sekolah kembali memungut SPP dari masyarakat.

Menurut Dedi, sebelum berbicara mengenai sumber pendanaan melalui pengaktifan SPP, seluruh sekolah harus lebih dulu mampu mengelola dana Bantuan Operasional Sekolah (BOS) secara optimal.

"Kita harus melakukan pengkajian secara mendalam. Nanti kalau Gubernur mengaktifkan SPP nanti opininya beda lagi, Gubernur tidak memprioritaskan pendidikan," kata Dedi, Rabu (15/7/2026).

Ia mengaku telah berkeliling mengunjungi berbagai SMA di Jawa Barat dan menemukan fakta bahwa kualitas pengelolaan sekolah tidak semata ditentukan besarnya anggaran, melainkan juga kemampuan manajemen sekolah dalam memanfaatkan dana BOS.

"Dana BOS itu, saya kan sudah mengunjungi setiap sekolah nih. Sekolah ini pakai dana BOS, sekolahnya berantakan. SMA 1 Depok itu pakai dana BOS, sekolahnya rapi. Dan saya nanya ke kepala sekolah, 'Kok sekolah Bapak bisa rapi?', 'Ya kami mengelola ini dengan baik.'," ujarnya.

Karena itu, Dedi menyatakan fokus utama pemerintah saat ini adalah memastikan seluruh sekolah mampu mengelola dana BOS secara efektif sebelum mempertimbangkan pemberlakuan kembali SPP.

"Jadi tahap pertama sekarang, saya ingin berfokus sekolah itu mengelola dana BOS dulu dengan baik," tegasnya.

Apabila masih terdapat kekurangan, terutama terkait sarana dan prasarana pendidikan, Dedi memastikan Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat akan turun tangan membantu melalui anggaran provinsi.

"Nanti ada kekurangan-kekurangan, biasanya kekurangannya fasilitas, sekolahnya kurang toilet, kurang ruang kelas, kurang pendingin ruangan, kurang sarana ibadah, kurang pagar. Itu kita penuhin oleh provinsi," katanya.

Menurut Dedi, kebutuhan operasional sekolah seharusnya terlebih dahulu ditopang oleh dana BOS. Karena itu, ia belum melihat urgensi untuk membuka kembali skema pembayaran SPP di sekolah negeri.

"Tapi operasional sekolah itu dipenuhi dulu oleh BOS, jangan dulu membuka SPP. Saya menghormati usulan itu, tetapi juga saya mempertimbangkan aspek publik gitu loh. Nanti polemik lagi," pungkasnya.
