Pelaku penipuan bermodus penggandaan uang di Mamuju

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Polisi mengungkap kasus penipuan berkedok ritual penggandaan uang yang merugikan korban Rp 80 juta di Kabupaten Mamuju, Sulawesi Barat. Seorang pria berinisial RM (50) ditangkap.

Kasi Humas Polresta Mamuju Iptu Herman Basir mengatakan, pengungkapan kasus tersebut berawal dari laporan seorang perempuan bernama Nurlina. Polisi kemudian melakukan penyelidikan hingga mengantongi bukti untuk menetapkan RM sebagai tersangka.

"Pengungkapan kasus ini berdasarkan Laporan Polisi Nomor LP/B/345/X/2026/SPKT Resta Mamuju, dengan pelapor atas nama Nurlina," kata Herman, Selasa (20/10/2026).

Herman menjelaskan, peristiwa dugaan penipuan itu bermula saat RM bertemu dengan korban di Provinsi Banten. Dalam pertemuan tersebut, tersangka mengaku mampu menggandakan uang melalui sebuah ritual.

Korban yang percaya dengan pengakuan tersebut kemudian menyiapkan uang tunai sebesar Rp 80 juta setelah kembali ke kampung halamannya di Dusun Bakenkeng, Kecamatan Kalukku, Kabupaten Mamuju. Korban selanjutnya mengundang tersangka untuk datang dan melaksanakan ritual penggandaan uang.

"Korban percaya dengan pengakuan tersangka, kemudian menyiapkan uang tunai sebesar Rp 80 juta setibanya di kampungnya. Korban lalu mengundang tersangka untuk datang dan melaksanakan ritual penggandaan uang," ujar Herman.

Namun, ritual tersebut tidak menghasilkan uang berlipat ganda seperti yang dijanjikan. Setelah ritual selesai, korban justru mendapati uang tunai miliknya telah hilang.

"Setelah ritual selesai, uang tunai milik korban justru hilang. Korban mendapati kardus yang digunakan dalam ritual tersebut dalam keadaan kosong," ungkapnya.

Merasa dirugikan, Nurlina kemudian melaporkan kejadian tersebut ke Sentra Pelayanan Kepolisian Terpadu (SPKT) Polresta Mamuju. Polisi menindaklanjuti laporan itu dengan melakukan penyelidikan untuk mengungkap dugaan penipuan tersebut.

Hasil penyelidikan mengarah kepada RM yang kemudian diamankan polisi di Kabupaten Polewali Mandar (Polman). Dalam pengungkapan kasus ini, penyidik turut menyita sejumlah barang bukti yang diduga berkaitan dengan modus ritual penggandaan uang.

"Barang bukti yang diamankan berupa sisa uang tunai sebesar Rp 10 juta, uang mainan pecahan Rp 100 ribu dengan total nominal Rp 203.800.000, serta sejumlah perlengkapan yang diduga digunakan dalam ritual penggandaan uang," jelas Herman.

Meski polisi menyita uang tunai dan uang mainan dengan nominal ratusan juta rupiah, kerugian yang dilaporkan korban dalam kasus ini mencapai sekitar Rp 80 juta. Uang mainan tersebut diduga berkaitan dengan modus yang digunakan tersangka dalam menjalankan aksinya.

Atas dugaan perbuatannya, RM dijerat dengan Pasal 492 Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana (KUHP). Pasal tersebut mengancam pelaku dengan pidana penjara paling lama empat tahun.
