Kuasa hukum Ruben Onsu, Minola Sebayang, buka suara menanggapi langkah kliennya yang mulai terbuka merawat seorang anak adopsi bernama Thayaka Putra Onsu.

Minola Sebayang menjelaskan, Ruben Onsu, tergerak merawat anak tersebut dengan tulus sejak masih bayi setelah ditemukan dalam kondisi telantar dan memprihatinkan.

"Sekarang ini, akhirnya mulai mau terbuka menunjukkan bagaimana hubungannya dengan si kecil yang ditemukan dalam keadaan tidak baik-baik saja di saat tidak ada orang yang mau mengurus. Akhirnya Ruben mau dengan hati yang penuh kasih merawat anak tersebut," kata Minola Sebayang saat ditemui di kawasan Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan, Senin (19/10/2026).

Kondisi anak yang kini tumbuh dengan sehat itu, dinilai Minola Sebayang sebagai bukti kepedulian dan kelayakan Ruben Onsu dalam mengasuh anak. Hal ini sekaligus menepis berbagai tudingan yang sempat diarahkan pada kliennya.

"Dari mulai bayi merah dalam kardus sampai seusia itu, anak itu sehat walafiat, tidak kurang satu apa pun. Ini sebenarnya cukup menjawab orang-orang di luar sana yang masih mempermasalahkan soal tes kesehatan," tutur Minola Sebayang.

Minola Sebayang menegaskan, Ruben Onsu sengaja tidak mengekspos pengasuhan anak tersebut sejak awal. Sikap tersebut, diambil demi menghindari anggapan kalau presenter berusia 43 tahun itu memanfaatkan keberadaan anak untuk mencari simpati di tengah konflik keluarga.

"Alasan selama ini tidak diekspos karena, kami tidak mau berlindung di balik anak-anak dan tidak mau dianggap pencitraan menampilkan anak-anak agar mendapat belas kasihan dari orang-orang," jelasnya.

Terkait prosedur pengasuhan anak, Minola Sebayang menegaskan lembaga sosial memiliki standar kelayakan yang sangat ketat. Pihak yayasan dipastikan telah memeriksa latar belakang, kesiapan finansial, serta kesehatan jasmani dan rohani Ruben Onsu sebelum memberikan hak asuh.

"Yayasan memiliki tanggung jawab saat menyerahkan anak, harus kepada orang yang diyakini akan menyayangi anak tersebut, mampu membiayai agar memiliki kehidupan layak, serta sehat jasmani dan rohani," terangnya.
