Liputan6.com, Tangerang -Hipertensi, diabetes, dan obesitas merupakan penyakit tidak menular (PTM) yang salah satunya terkait dengan konsumsi gula, garam dan lemak berlebihan. Bila diabetes, hipertensi, dan obesitas tak ditangani atau dikontrol maka risiko terkena penyakit berat lebih besar. 

"Penyakit tidak menular, seperti hipertensi, diabetes, dan obesitas, dapat berdampak pada penyakit yang lebih berat, seperti penyakit stroke, kanker, atau penyakit kardiovaskular lainnya,” kata Kepala Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) Taruna Ikrar dalam peringatan Patient Safety Day 2026 di Lippo Village Main Campus Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Tangerang.

Untuk mencegah muncul diabetes, hipertensi dan obesitas, maka Taruna mengingatkan bahwa pencegahan PTM perlu dilakukan sejak dini, salah satunya melalui upaya promotif dan preventif dengan memperhatikan pola konsumsi sehari-hari.

“Kata kuncinya adalah mencegah penyakit tidak menular melalui program promotif dan pencegahan, antara lain dengan membatasi gula, garam, dan lemak (GGL)," pesannya mengutip laman BPOM.

Saat ini PTM menjadi salah satu tantangan kesehatan masyarakat, baik secara global maupun di Indonesia. Berdasarkan data Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO), PTM menyumbang 74 persen kematian secara global.

Di Indonesia, Survei Kesehatan Indonesia (SKI) 2023 mencatat prevalensi hipertensi berdasarkan hasil pengukuran mencapai 30,8 persen pada penduduk berusia 18 tahun ke atas.

Sementara itu, prevalensi diabetes berdasarkan pemeriksaan kadar gula darah mencapai 11,7 persen pada penduduk berusia 15 tahun ke atas. Adapun obesitas pada penduduk berusia di atas 18 tahun tercatat sebesar 23,4 persen.

 

Bahas Keamanan Penggunaan Obat

Selain pencegahan PTM, keselamatan pasien juga berkaitan erat dengan keamanan penggunaan obat. Taruna menyampaikan bahwa pengawasan obat perlu dilakukan di sepanjang siklus hidup produk, termasuk melalui pengawasan post-market (farmakovigilans) setelah obat beredar di masyarakat.

“Kalau masyarakat sudah sakit, kita harus memastikan teknik pengobatan dan pelayanan, termasuk produk obat dan makanan di masyarakat, mampu termonitor post-market-nya melalui sistem farmakovigilans,” tambahnya.

Menurut Taruna lagi, pelaporan farmakovigilans oleh masyarakat masih perlu ditingkatkan. Untuk itu, BPOM telah menyediakan aplikasi pelaporan secara daring mengenai masalah yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan obat dan efek sampingnya, yaitu melalui sistem pelaporan elektronik Monitoring Efek Samping Obat (e-MESO). Implementasi farmakovigilans tersebut juga diperkuat melalui Peraturan BPOM Nomor 4 Tahun 2026 tentang Pelaksanaan Farmakovigilans.
